The Ministry of Economic Transformation (MET) is a key driver of Belize’s economic and social transformation, leading the formulation and implementation of policies and programs that promote sustainable growth, macroeconomic stability, and poverty reduction. With responsibilities spanning economic planning, capital budgeting, project implementation, trade facilitation, and climate finance, the ministry also oversees the implementation of national projects like the Resilient Rural Belize Program, the Belize Integral Security Program and the Road Safety Project. MET also holds the responsibility for statutory bodies such as the Belize Social Investment Funda and the Statistical Institute of Belize. Through a cabinet mandate, the Ministry of Economic Transformation and its CEO serves as the Nationally Designated Authority to the Green Climate Fund and the Adaptation Fund, whose portfolios are housed under the Climate Finance Unit.
